My Etsy shop  is now open with lots of cozy couture for the upcoming fall and winter season! My creations are designed for the fearless woman who is not afraid to make a statement and show her unique style! All creations are truly one of a kind as I never make the same thing twice.

Black Widow Felted Necklace

Finally it feels like spring here and yet I'm busy felting and creating new "stuff" for the upcoming 2013/2014 Fall/Winter season.  One of the new additions to the High Caliber Line will be OOAK Felted Jewelry. Keeping in the tongue in cheek tradition, I created "Black Widow". She's bold, (of course) and big, (of course again). After all, why wear it if you can't see it? She's comprised of  3 black felted balls which, (of course again) are embellished with lots of glitz to include hand sewn crystals, silver firestar, tulle, bamboo, tencel and finished off with a black lava bead and a huge black crystal spider with red crystal eyes.  All this glitz and glam hangs from a black chain.

 

 

 

Inspiration

Often I am asked how and where I get the inspiration to create my jewelry and accessories. The answer is anywhere and everywhere.   For instance, one day as I took the short walk from my house to my studio, I looked down and saw this beautiful patch of moss .  I just love the contrast of the bright green  against the rusty copper color.  That day I created "Spring Fling".  See the connection?

                                                                        

I  frequently visit antique and vintage shops looking for unique components to make OOAK and unique statement jewelry. Museums and galleries are other great places to get inspired.  Take a walk and see what you might discover. I keep my eyes open and try to see the beauty in everything! I hope this post inspires you to look at things differently.

Dirty Little Secret

I had an amazing time working this piece together – start with a gorgeous old lock and imagine all the secrets it kept hidden from view then add in ropes of bold chain and beautiful turquoise – I almost had to keep this piece for myself!

Absolutely OOAK – you won’t see a replica of this piece floating around – the lock has it’s original soviet era patina! The primitive vintage brass element twined into the turquoise gives this piece its dramatic flair – imagine the looks you will get wearing this statement making piece!

Long drapes of chain in various steel and copper tones are mainly vintage, interspersed with turquoise pearl chain. All the vintage chains have their original patina – there is no getting around the fact that nature does this best! A choker of turquoise nuggets brings bright color to your neckline and sets off the long cascade of chains perfectly. This piece drops an amazing 18 inches from the clasp!

Certain to be an instant cult classic with it’s all-star cast featuring Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Helena Bonham carter and the incomparable Michele Pfeiffer as the matriarch. My newest piece “Elizabeth” was inspired by Michelle’s character. This necklace is a combination of glamour with a touch of gothic beauty. Absolutely breathtaking!

This is a vintage piece – the brooch at the center is a stunning example of 50’s era glamour with its clear shadow crystals and Morion aurora borealis rhinestones. This piece glitters and sparkles like crazy. The brooch portion is about 3.5 inches in diameter making it a striking addition to your outfit.

The craftsmanship on this piece will shock you – each rhinestone is carefully hand set in individual prongs for long life and added sparkle.
