Often I am asked how and where I get the inspiration to create my jewelry and accessories. The answer is anywhere and everywhere.   For instance, one day as I took the short walk from my house to my studio, I looked down and saw this beautiful patch of moss .  I just love the contrast of the bright green  against the rusty copper color.  That day I created "Spring Fling".  See the connection?

I  frequently visit antique and vintage shops looking for unique components to make OOAK and unique statement jewelry. Museums and galleries are other great places to get inspired.  Take a walk and see what you might discover. I keep my eyes open and try to see the beauty in everything! I hope this post inspires you to look at things differently.

So You Had A Bad Day

In an effort to make this blog more than  just blatant self promotion I decided to write about something that might inhibit you, but doesn't have to, and dare I say shouldn't from being fashionable on a particular day.

Did you have a bad day? Or are you having a bad day? Have you ever had a bad day? Ever feel like my little buddy (image up loaded from pinterest) to the left? Of course you have, we all have!

What I've found when I feel and look like this, is that it's coming from a feeling of exhaustion or feeling overwhelmed. So what do I do? First, I make a list of all the things I want and need to get done. Trust me, this is always a very long list! Then I make a much smaller more mangeable list of things that absolutely have to get done that day. And I mean absolutely. I give myself a break, give myself permission to take it easy, otherwise I would just stay in bed and pull the covers over my head. I can actually feel my shoulders relax, my whole body relax and I don't feel so overwhelmed. Another thing that helps is to stay quiet for awhile, that means no tv, let the phone go to voice mail, and yes, dare I say turn off the computer?! Just for a little while, we all get so over stimulated that it can make us crazy, literally, I think! Finally, I get dressed up. Yep, make up my face, put on an outfit I love and of course lots of bling! Try it, you too will feel better. Something about looking good makes us feel good too.

Ok, the last little bit of advice, buy yourself something nice, go shopping,( oh here it is, the self promotion part), but really it can and does make us feel a little better when we treat ourselves nicely. Oh and if you need some ideas of what to's a great site to try!

Take time for yourself, be kind to youself, you deserve it! Remember your best accessory is always your smile!

My line of Steampunk inspired cuffs are bold couture. These leather accessories make a statement. Each cuff is custom made in my studio with natural components. This cuff started with a gorgeous chocolate brown and deep burnt orange python leather. This is amazingly patterned leather with a great hand feel.

This cuff is embellished with 3 silver and copper colored bullet accents and lengths of copper and gunmetal chain. Silver tone snap closures make this a secure cuff to wear. Culture Clash

Seemingly delicate and light – this piece is a blending of feminine and strength like you’ve never seen before! The lighter chains used in this piece are strung with bullets and pearls – a true culture clash for you. This is not for the demure or shy! You will get comments on this piece!

Vintage copper chains and filigree leaf from the 1920’s make this piece an instant collector’s item. Interspersed are also newer chains and glass pearls. The rope of glass pearls at the neckline is a mix of lightly patina coated gold and copper tones in multiple sizes.

A OOAK necklace, the chains swing an amazing 18 inches from the clasp for that luxurious focal look – this isn’t a necklace that accents an outfit – this is the outfit! As with all my designs – they are not for the faint of heart. My jewelry is designed for the bold, for those wanting to be noticed.

Dirty Little Secret

I had an amazing time working this piece together – start with a gorgeous old lock and imagine all the secrets it kept hidden from view then add in ropes of bold chain and beautiful turquoise – I almost had to keep this piece for myself!

Absolutely OOAK – you won’t see a replica of this piece floating around – the lock has it’s original soviet era patina! The primitive vintage brass element twined into the turquoise gives this piece its dramatic flair – imagine the looks you will get wearing this statement making piece!

Long drapes of chain in various steel and copper tones are mainly vintage, interspersed with turquoise pearl chain. All the vintage chains have their original patina – there is no getting around the fact that nature does this best! A choker of turquoise nuggets brings bright color to your neckline and sets off the long cascade of chains perfectly. This piece drops an amazing 18 inches from the clasp!

Not for the faint of heart this piece will set you apart from the rest! Give your dramatic flair an outlet – feel the drape of this necklace and wonder what secrets it will hold for you!

Spring Fling

Bright colors are back, finally! And I have created a choker for the bold fashion mongers out there – Spring Fling! This multi chain chocker is vintage through and through. No one will know this piece didn’t come from a 1950’s vintage vogue collection. The fifties are hot collectors’ items right now – add this piece to your own collection of glamour inspired jewelry!

I used two different vintage brass chains to give this piece it’s deserving presence around your neck and then lightened the style with a rope of sparkling 10mm blue green crystals. This layered look is accented by a lime watercolor leaf brooch and an adorable blue crystal lady bug. (The brooch is about 3.5 inches long)

This little beauty is delicate, yet bold and would make a stunning addition to your spring wardrobe. The necklace is adjustable from 17-19 ". Like many of my other pieces, I have combined vintage and new in a way that makes a bold statement about you the owner. I strive to create pieces that have a high impact - Pieces of jewelry that will blow your mind with their brilliance.

Dark Shadows

Dark shadows is coming soon – be ready!

Certain to be an instant cult classic with it’s all-star cast featuring Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Helena Bonham carter and the incomparable Michele Pfeiffer as the matriarch. My newest piece “Elizabeth” was inspired by Michelle’s character. This necklace is a combination of glamour with a touch of gothic beauty. Absolutely breathtaking!

This is a vintage piece – the brooch at the center is a stunning example of 50’s era glamour with its clear shadow crystals and Morion aurora borealis rhinestones. This piece glitters and sparkles like crazy. The brooch portion is about 3.5 inches in diameter making it a striking addition to your outfit.

The craftsmanship on this piece will shock you – each rhinestone is carefully hand set in individual prongs for long life and added sparkle. The necklace portion is of dual chain blended together to form the thick knot work you see. The gold tones and bluish green tones of the metals work well with the brooch.

No detail was left unattended to. Even the clasp of this necklace is adorned with a beautiful sparkling crystal stone. This piece is simple elegance, one of a kind to be certain! Wear it to the movie!

Statement Necklaces new for Spring!

I have recently added some new bold and unique jewelry to spruce up your spring wardrobe! The above necklace is "Just Be(e)".

I absolutely love these fat little bumble bees! The bumble bee is a symbol of accomplishing the impossible. Aerodynamically, the bumble bee should not be able to fly but they don't know it so away they go! They are a reminder that we too can accomplish the impossible if we allow ourselves to "Just Be(e)" who we are meant to be!
